Family, Blessing, Houston, etc

I know it's been forever since I updated, so here is the past few weeks in a nutshell. My family came down for Teik's blessing and surprised me by bringing two of my sisters! This was so fun and we had a blast shopping togethre (my poor dad!) and we took them out to Cadillac Ranch. My dad took a chunk of paint out of one of the cars and it was like 10 layers deep. Crazy!
Our family picture the day of the blessing. I realize you can't see Teiker's face, but at 3 weeks of age, he wasn't about to smile anyway.

The proud grandparents. For anyone who doesn't know, my parents are standing by Jon and his parents are by me. It was great to have both there!
Gran, Mom, and Grammy/Mimi.

This is Teik in his blessing outfit. We borrowed it from Torrie and I thought it was darling! He's doing his Napoleon Dynomite impression right here, but I thought it was quite the pose!

The cousins! There's Sevy with Teik, Drew, Nyah, Juliet, and Avery. Juliet is Brandi's little girl and I hadn't seen her since she was like 6 weeks old! Too cute!

Sevy loves her cousin's so one of the hardest things about leaving Amarillo was saying goodbye. She was spoiled having them so close and I feel bad every time she asks to play with Drew or Nyah. This was her goodbye to Drew her best friend.

We got to Houston and I got to see my house for the first time! Jon did good! We'll post pictures when it's actually set up. My mom stayed with us for two weeks and we got a lot done thanks to her! Jon became Mr. Fix-It and put up 4 ceiling fans and a garage door opener. Yes, I'm impressed also! We got Sevy a big-girl twinsize bed and she loves it and I think it's awesome! We got all crafty with flower arrangements and homemade pillows--when I finish those I'll post them! But, you would think we would get all unpacked having extra help, but no. We decided to see some of Houston with Mom. We hit up the Galleria, visited IKEA, and hit the Downtown Aquarium. In truth, the aquarium wasn't all that great, but Sevy loves fish and had a good time!

This was the Nemo tank. It had a clown fish and a Dory fish. Sevy was pointing saying "Nemo!"

We ventured out to Galveston to show my mom the beach. The first time Jon and I went out there we weren't too impressed, but this time we found a better beach and had a blast! The water is so warm and this beach had some nice sand!
Sevy and Gran playing in the water! Sevy loves her Gran!
Jon and I at the beach looking very beachish!

The sunbathed girlies on the day Mom had to leave. We all got a lot of sun on the beach! We were sad to have mom leave and have real life begin. I swear the kids could tell the minute she left and both threw huge fits. No one can calm Teik down like Gran, and Sevy only will listen to her grandparents! Oh well!

Back to Normal Life

Now that we have baby home, we've pretty much gotten back to normal life.  Sevy has been enjoying having baby brother home and has been Mommy's big helper.  She wouldn't touch him at the hospital, but now she tries to hold him on her own.  Yes, this is very scary for us!  She now is excellent at riding her cousin Nyah's little tricycle.  She enjoys riding it around the house or we'll go outside and I'll walk while she rides.  She looks like such a big girl on it!  She even likes to bring Moo Cow on rides with her.

Sevy has also been spending a lot of time with her cousins and loves them so much.  It's a daily occurance to hear her beg to play with Drew or Avery
or Nyah!

It's been well known that Sevy does not like fire and last year on the fourth of July fireworks were just a bad idea.  This year proved to be no different.  While it
was
still light, we played with firecrackers in the backyard and while we were just throwing poppers, she loved it, but when we broke out the real things,
she ran
straight for the door.  We then went over to watch Amarillo's firework show and we were actually really far away and she just sat on Jon's lap and hid her face in his chest the whole time.
She did jump up and try to run for a random house, but we got her to sit for the remainder of the show.  I hope she grows out of that one of these years!

Little Teikers is growing so fast though.  I can't believe it's already been over two weeks and I can't even imagine how he fit in me!  He really is just a pile of mush, but he smiles (I don't believe it's just gas) and he sleeps pretty decently most nights.  He even gave us a 6 hour stint the other night.  Of course, I woke up after 5 hours and tried to will him awake because I was so freaked out that he slept that long.  He's a good kid and we love having him in our family!

The Details

We are now home from the hospital, and yes, we finally have a name for our baby! We named him Kristian Teik Ormson and will call him Teik. It's a very Norwegian name, but also a family name! Both baby and I are doing good. Teik sleeps a lot, which is nice, and so far is just a very content little baby. We'll see how this first night goes! I hurt, but nothing horrible and didn't swell like I did with Sevy. This is a miracle by my book! I'm really tired, and blame my pain killers on this. All things considered though, this birth was so much better!

The delivery was cool. It was a c-section and I had a blue curtain hiding me from everything, but Jon was right there by my side and was able to see them pull Teik out! He was able to cut the cord and do a lot of that new dad stuff that we missed out on last time due to the emergency. I was actually awake and it was crazy to feel them push on me and then all the sudden feel no weight on my belly and hear a little cry. Jon looked over at me with a huge smile and I just smiled and cried! To us he looks just like Sevy did at birth and I can't wait to see how he grows!

Baby Boy is HERE!!!!!

Well he is finally here. Our newest addition to the Ormson clan arrived on the 27th of June at 2:18pm. He looks exactly like his older sister Sevy when she was a new born. We will have more news about him later but for now here are some pictures.

Livin' it up in Amarillo

Sevy has been livin' it up this summer in Amarillo! I'm trying to give her a full summer before baby comes and before the heat of Houston attacks us. We've spent many afternoons at the pool thanks to Uncle Zane and she now loves swimming and the water slide! Every time all the cousins are over they end up wet thanks to the hose or the rain water buckets that Sevy cannot resist playing in! It's funny watching all the cousins play because they all have their reserves in one area, but you can see them breaking down the more they play together. Avery (pictured above) is the newest cousin and is not afraid of anything! She doesn't even walk yet but will crawl straight to the flowing water or straight for the pool!

It's been raining quite a bit and cousin Nyah is not afraid to run in the rain and now finally Sevy is the same way! She loves going out with the umbrella, but never really stays dry with it! Tonight we took her out because we were having a great thunderstorm and she would not go to sleep and she loved watching the "lights" and the thunder didn't even scare her. She was so excited about the rain though. She ended up falling asleep on Jon which was perfect!

On Mondays, Cheer Texas has a family play time for a couple of hours, so yesterday we took the kids. They had a blast! It was one place the three of them (Sevy, Nyah, and Drew) could play and actually not fight! Sevy loves the trampolines, and Drew was a madman running into the foam pit! Sevy and Nyah were more hesitant of that but loved when Jon would throw them in! I even jumped in with them and no, it did not help induce this baby! Little Avery kept crawling straight to the foam pit and also had a blast. They had so much fun and it wore them out!

It's so sad knowing we are moving away from Sevy's cousins, but it's been great that she has this summer to play with them before the big move. It'll be hard in Houston having both families so far away, but it's just what we have to do for the sake of a future and we know it's NOT permanent!

We Have a House and my 38 Week Belly

It's finally official! We are now home owners! Jon and Kris went down on Monday to do the final walk-thru and to sign the papers. They got all the little things that needed to be done and the boys slept in our brand new house! We think our neighbors think Jon and Kris are gay because they watched them move in and then peeped on them that night. Appearantly our master bedroom windows line up. We figure their opinion will change when they see Jon move in with me and 2 kids! The scary thing about this house is I have never seen it. When we move in hopefully sometime next month, it'll be my first time actually seeing it. This makes it hard to be overly excited about it and Jon keeps wanting to look at fans and things and I just can't picture anything yet. He's really excited for me to finally see it! I really must trust this guy to let him choose our house!
In other news, here is me at 38 weeks. I don't think this kid is ever going to come out. I realize I look small in this picture, but it's all angling. I have no room to move with this belly! My belly button has officially popped (something that never happened with Sevy) and I'm down to a handful of clothes that fit. Surprisingly, this shirt is non-maternity. I have it in black and white and seriously wear them overly often! I really have no major complaints about this pregnancy though. I'm nausious all the time and too much sugar makes it worse (that doesn't stop me though), but I've only gained 25 lbs (this is also amazing considering I was 40+ lbs with Sevy) and I have a lot of nonmaternity pants that still fit fine. So, other than my baby probably coming late and about 9+ lbs, I can definitely say I've had worse!

Thanks a lot Kalle

Blog Tag Rules:Answer these 15 questions on your blog. List: 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 random surprising facts. Tag 5 people by leaving their names at the end of the post. Leave a comment on their blog so they know they have been tagged.

Joys:

1. Jon. While looking through my old journals I realized just how much he had to put up with me while we were "dating" and I'm just amazed he stuck it out. He's my best friend now and although there are many times I could just strangle him, I couldn't imagine my life without him.

2. Sevy and Baby-to-Be. Once again, it's funny how my joys could bring such grief to me! I love the Sevster so much and I always have to remind myself this when she's driving me crazy! I know this little bun in the oven will be the same way. It's definitely weird to love something so much that you can't even touch yet!

3. Family. I have been uberly blessed to have a rockin' family and to marry into an amazing family. I know if we ever need anything, we can ask anyone (cousin's included) and they will be more than happy to help. It's a great way to be raised!

Fears:

1. Failing. I hate telling people that something is going to happen if it's not a sure thing. I've always been this way and I don't know where it came from. I like to have back up plans and all sorts of weird things even on prettty sure things, just in case. I almost worry that I'm installing this into Jon.

2. Public Speaking. I have always been an outgoing person, but doing anything in front of large groups freaks me out. I have a EFY speaker for a sister and 2 parents that are amazing speakers, yet I shake during junior primary sharing time. It's pretty pathetic, especially being a fitness instructor.

3. Storms. I grew up loving them, but last night we had one and it freaked me out. If I'm with someone (like Jaclyn or Jon) I love to watch the thunder and lighting and rain and hail. But if I'm all alone, or just with Sevy, not so much. It freaks me out--especially at night.

Goals:

1. I want to go back to school. I don't know for what though. Maybe hair school. I just love to learn new things. I want to get more fitness certifications and learn more trades. I love to learn anything hands on.

2. I want to compete in a triathalon. This means I have to get into running, swimming, and outdoor biking. I think biking will be the easiest for me. I think I'll have to start small (mini-tri: maybe the Spudman), but it's something I really want to do.

3. I want my own family to all be in the temple together someday. I've been with all of my family, and I've been with all of Jon's family. Both experiences were so cool--and almost unheard of these days. I want to be there with all of my kids and their spouses one day. I know it would just be amazing!

Obsessions/Collections:

1. I love magazines and I rip out anything I like out of them. I don't know if I'll ever use what I rip out, but I do it anyway. This includes make-up and hair styles, recipes, exercises, craft ideas, home decor, or fun facts. I have a big pile of pull-outs, but I figure it's better than a big pile of magazines.

2. I love getting mail. I always had a penpal, and I use to write like 12 missionaries at any given time through college. I love cool stamps and envelopes. I like opening the mailbox and getting a surprise package or card or letter. I know email is the way of the future, but I love regular letters. This is probably why Jon and I ended up together, because I loved to write and receive letters.

3. I'm obsessed with projects. Not necessarily finishing them though. I love having a project and almost feel naked without something random to do. Currently-and this is living with basically nothing because I'm living at my in-laws and all my stuff is in Houston-I have 2 quilts to finish (I'm not a quilter), a summer dress for Sevy to make, and a pile of magazines to go through. I'm also thinking about making baby announcements, and decided against making a baby book--but that may change.

Random Surprising Facts (as if my obsessions weren't random or surprising enough):

1. I actually like Texas. I by no means want to end up here, but I really like it. I hate the tornado season and hail storms, but I like the mild winters and the friendly people. I like the fact that I stick out being a Mormon. I like the self-confidence people have here and I now have no problems going to the pool without swim shorts. People here don't judge or look at you funny for not having the best legs or for having a gianormous belly that refuses to be covered. I like the self-confidence I've gained here.

2. I've lost my major sense of adventure. This is sad. I still love random and spontanious trips, but I lost my desire to go skydiving. I still want to learn to surf, and I miss wakeboarding and all watersports, but not do not want to try flips on the boards anymore. I think it happened when I got married and got worse when I had kids. I realize now that my adventurous stupidity does not only affect me now.

3. I hate the cold. This is blasphemous being an Idaho girl. I love to snowboard, but once I get too cold, it's done for me. I love the snow, but almost from a distance. I don't like driving in it and don't trust others driving in it. I like to play in it, but only in stints. I now understand why my mom liked spring skiing. It's warmer! To the same degree-I'm a snow snob. If the snow is not great, I don't like to ski in it or play in it. What a weirdo am I!

A Glimpse of Baby

So today we got our 36 week checkup and got a sonogram!  Our baby is most definitely a boy and they took his measurements . . . the kid is already about 7 lbs 4 oz!  WHAT THE?!  I still have 4 weeks to go! After his measurements, the sonogram tech changed my due date to the 18th or 19th, but my doctor is stickin' with the 29th.  I'm hoping he'll come earlier!  The top picture is a frontal shot: you can see his chubbo cheeks and his eye and forehead.  The second shot is a profile in 3D of his eye and nose and mouth.  It was fun to get a little "preview" of the kiddo since he seems to take up all of me!

OH! In other news, we have finally moved out of our apartment and up to Amarillo. We realized how much junk we really have as it took 7 hours  and two trailers to get all moved out. Jon had 2 great friends who stayed and helped the whole time and Jon's sis and bro-in-law came and helped out a ton! We were so thankful to have such awesome friends and family willing to help out down here!  Our plan is to have the baby here in Amarillo and then mid July move to Houston.  Hopefully everything will go as planned!  People, get to praying that this kid comes at least a couple of weeks early!

Advice Needed from Moms Who Know

I've decited that I want to get a sling to carry baby #2 in. I think it'll be more convenient while grocery shopping and things like that. And, it's cheaper than buying a double stroller. The question is, what kind do I go for? I've had many people tell me slings that they like, or carriers that they like, but which one truely is better. I'm looking for affordable (because frankly, I'm cheap) and functional. These are the two I'm looking at, unless people know of a better option. The first is a Hotsling in Floral. I know, not exactly boyish, but I'm the one who will be wearing it. It holds kiddos in 5 different ways and goes from newborn to 30 lbs. Knowing me, once the kid hits 30 lbs, I don't like holding them anymore. The second is a Peanut Shell in black. It is obviously more boyish, and does all the stuff the Hotsling does. I don't know if one brand is better or worse than the other. This is why I'm asking for advice! Please Help!
In other news, Jon graduated from Tech this weekend and I couldn't be prouder! He graduated Suma Cum Laude! How smart is he?! Currently, he has the camera in Houston where he is once again house hunting, so when he gets back, I'll post pictures from the main event!

We've Created a Monster

Anyone who knows me knows that I hate the Xbox. Unless it's Guitar Hero or Tony Hawk, I think video games are a ridiculous waste of time and make me an unhappy single mom. This is a fact that I do not hide at all--much to the chagrin of Jon! Well, Jon loves playing video games. One of his favorites is Hockey. I don't have major qualms with Hockey because at least it's not a shooting game, but now we have bigger problems. Sevy is hooked. We try to put her to bed and she hears daddy playing and jumps up saying "I want to play hockey." That's right, she cannot say love, but she can beg to play hockey. She likes to sit with Jon with her controller to play along. Luckily she doesn't realize that her control isn't connected, but frankly, I wouldn't notice either! She just loves to be included with what the boys are doing. Fantastic!
(For anyone who doesn't know, this is Jon, Sevy, and Uncle Kris playing hockey.)

The Baby Quilt Rough Draft

I've gotten very homemakey lately and decided after I found out I was having a boy, that I wanted to make a quilt! Thankfully, a lot of my friends and family were willing to help out and make airplane blocks to go into it! All that I have received are totally unique and just fun and I finally found a pattern to tie it all together and went crazy yesterday putting it in motion! So, here is the rough draft! I'm still short a few airplanes, but all of the pinwheels are done! I made them with flannel, so it'll be really soft! I'm going to border the whole blanket with a thin navy blue, then a thick airplane pattern, and then the edge and the back will be red (the back may be striped with the other pinwheel colors, I haven't decided yet). It turned out a lot larger than I originally planned, but I didn't have a real plan anyway, so this works out! I also found cute shark flannel that I'm going to make a rag quilt out of for baby in honor of Jon! I had all the blocks cut out for that which I ended up using as the pinwheels! Go figure! I just need to get this thing done a) before we move, b) before I change my mind again, and c) before I lose my motivation to finish it!

Ode to Mom

I was just reading my friend Jaidi's blog about dandelion's and her mom and this week I totally had a moment where all I could think about was my Mom. The reason you ask? Water aerobics. My Mom has gone to and taught water aerobics longer than I probably have been alive. It still makes me sad knowing I only went to a handful of her classes (they were REALLY early) and everytime, she totally kicked my butt! So, since I'm pregnant, I've been told water aerobics is the best workout. That is why Monday night I went to Aqua Attack. Now I'm a vain person who considers myself still in excellent shape thanks to my x-biking class that I'm still teaching. My vanity has been stripped away now. That class kicked my butt! I even took it fairly easy because, hello, way pregnant here. After I left, all I could think about was my Mom who will always be able to kick our butts in anything water related and still has the best legs of the family! So for you Mom . . . you rock! Maybe one day I can go to a water aerobics class and not want to pass out halfway through! Love ya!

Sevy Turns 2 and We're Moving to Houston

For spring break, Jon and I headed down to Houston to check it out and look for housing for dental school. After being down there for a few days, Jon knew that this is where he wanted to go for sure! We spent a day looking at apartments and two days checking out houses, and we are pretty sure we want to get a house when we move! So scary and so exciting! If you want to see our two favorite houses we saw, go to the side of our blog under "check it out" and click "Houston House Hunt." We put up info and pictures. Yeah, we're weird! Anyhoo, Houston was fun! We went to Ikea (my dream come true!) and checked out the cheap and cool furniture. We went to the Galleria which is every shoppers dream mall and covers anyone's budget. They have everything from a Gucci store, to Delia's (my favorite store--at least their sales!) So cool! One of the afternoons, Jon surprised me by taking me down to Galveston beach which is only like 45 minutes away. The weather was windy, and the beach is slightly pathetic, but the houses down there are cool and heck--it's a beach! We had fun walking around and didn't dare touch the water. For dinner we went to this off the beaten track bar-b-que place called Queen's and had the greated bbq sandwhich's which were huge and cheap! The best part was, they were western bar-b-que, not southern! I tell you--it's so much better! It's like the sauce is thicker or maybe it's just what I grew up to! Either way, it was GOOOOD!
We came home and basically went straight up to Amarillo to celebrate Easter and to have a birthday bash for Sevy! We took pictures of the girls in their Easter dresses and Drew looking sharp in his matching tie. It's sad to say, but Sevy had been sick and as a result, not the funnest monkey to be around. We finally did manage to get her smiling for a picture when she learned her shoes sounded like duckies. Boy! That was the coolest thing ever! While the weather was nice Saturday, the kids did an Easter egg hunt and this year it was so much fun since the kids were old enough to enjoy it! Sevy went crazy and they all ended up with a basket full of eggs! Saturday night we had a birthday party and yes, Sevy is still afraid of fire so the candle blowing out was impossible. She did enjoy unwrapping gifts and fell in love with the Elmo semi-truck with little Cookie
Monster and Grouch trucks that ride inside. She puts them in her baby stroller given to her by Aunt Judy! What a girly-girl!

Today is officially her 2nd birthday and we attempted to take pictures like we did last year. I took her to the temple because the grounds there are the prettiest in Lubbock and she was not cooperative at all! She did enjoy running around the grounds of the temple with her ducky shoes though. I did manage to get a few cute ones and call it good! We are not doing any real celebrations today thanks to a test of Jon's and me having to work, but maybe this weekend we'll think of something fun for her to do. She's too little to care anyway! (What a mean Mom am I!)

My Super Man

So this was the first weekend in ages that Jon did not have anything to do, and I was totally stoked because that meant we could do something fun . . . or at least overhaul our apartment. Well, Friday night we went out to eat with some friends of ours at one of our favorite resturaunts and we ate the best chips and salsa and then I ordered my favorite meal from there. Afterwards we were going to go play games but once we got to the car, I wasn't feeling so great and told Jon I needed to go home. We called and apologized to our friends and got home and 10 minutes later I lost my dinner. The rest of the night for me was spent tossing in bed and rushing to the bathroom. Not fun. Jon took care of Sevy and put her to bed and stayed up playing video games when he saw her wandering around at like 2 am. He got her back in bed and an hour or so later, she puked. Poor guy had to clean her all by himself and change her sheets and bathe her and put her back in bed. Two hours later, it happened again. Poor Jon! Somehow, he managed to spend the night cleaning and caring for the two sick girls in the household that shared a meal and because of it shared food poisoning! Thankfully, Sevy was great by the next morning. I still didn't feel so hot, so Jon still took care of me and got me 7-up and made me toast and things. I felt so bad like I had starved our poor unborn child. I'm just glad Jon ignored me when I tried to get him to finish my burrito, and that he is the type of guy willing to clean up puke! He is definetely my Super Man!

Belly Issues

So, I'm still teaching my x-biking class and when I got home today I looked in the mirror and realized--I'm starting to look fairly silly in tight workout shirts. I went to class tonight with a hoodie that's formfitting w/o a belly and my regulars started making fun of me! I'm wondering if I'm starting to look funny on the bikes. Like, people always make fun of pregnant women waddling, although I never thought I did, but do I do something weird like that while teaching? Would anyone actually tell me if I did? I shouldn't complain because I'm really not huge yet, and I haven't gotten the pregnancy arms yet, and my pants still thankfully fit smashingly, but I'm starting to struggle in the shirt arena and all my maternity shirts from last time are wintery, dressy, and very large. I'm just at a loss of what to do because I know I'm only getting bigger from here! And those are my belly issues!

Talents and my two cents

Sorry for this random post. Jon and I were watching Dreamgirls last night and he made the comment, "How would it feel to be able to sing that good?" I told him it probably feels the same as having complete control on your skates as you are playing hockey. We started talking about having real talents and how everybody is really good at something. I always thought I was just a jack of all trades but not really great at anything, but that's not true for anyone. I think at one time or another, everyone feels really confident about something and it just feels right. I had that feeling at Ricks in my drafting class where I just knew what I was doing and could get lost for hours doing it and not realizing it. I have friends who can get lost in running and just find that rhythm and go for miles. For others it's a science class that they just understand and absorb. So here is my two cents: Don't look at others and be jealous of their skills, because inevitably, you have talents that they would kill for too.

Weather Sadness and Ill Behavior

The weather here in Lubbock is killing me! It is 72 degrees outside today. Gorgeous right? No! Because we have 20-45 mph wind attacking us. I thought Sevy and I were going to be blown away as we ran errands today (seriously, Sevy was blown down!). It's ridiculous. I just want to take her to the park and enjoy the beautiful warmth, but no. And tomorrow is suppose to be back in the 50's and sunny. I just can't win!

I've also decided that I'm not good at this pregnancy game at all. I think I've turned psycho! Jon had a stupid review for school yesterday (this is what happens when you don't go to a church school) and I was forced to teach our sunbeams by myself. Those poor kids probably thought I was crazy because I sat and lectured repeatedly two of my kids. They are fortunately goldfish like Sevy is because they would go right back to doing what they were doing and thought I was the nicest thing ever. I fear what they tell their parents! I did learn one of our students told her mom I had a cute puffy shirt on yesterday. I don't think she realizes the puffy is actually my belly! Oh well! Poor Sevy gets the brunt of my crazy behavior also. She throws like a champ--but unfortunetely throws EVERYTHING. Yesterday she threw a full bottle of baby sunscreen and it bounced off the couch and smacked me hard in the face. Needless to say, I lost it. For the first time ever though I think she realized I was really mad and promptly grabbed Moo Cow and Blanky and ran to her room and stayed there for the rest of the night like I told her too. I hate getting upset at her and I seem to be a cannon ready to blow these days. If I lash out at anyone, I'm sorry. It's horomones that I can't control!

Shawn's Wedding

Oh what a fun occasion it is to get the family together for a wedding! Sevy was so excited to see her cousin Sarah, and to see Pappa and Gr (we are still working on Gran, but she calls her Gr instead!) We also got to meet new baby Juliet Rose Lofgran! Too cute! The temple ceremony was beautiful--they got married in the Portland, Oregon temple--and it was cool to be there with the whole family! Chantall (and I really hope I spelled that right) looked just amazing in her wedding dress. Seriously, I was in love with the dress, but don't possess the waist to pull it off! We are all excited to get a new Sister Bagley, since we all lost our titles in our own nuptuals! The whole trip was short, but worthwhile! Really, what a better way to spend a weekend?!

It's a . . .

We had our 20 week ultrasound today and the good news is, everything checked out great! The baby is 10 oz right now and showing at 20 weeks old! This is great news for us who usually get pushed back! So we are right on track with the due date! The baby wasn't even shy for the sneak peek and we learned we are having a . . .

BOY!
We are totally stoked and right after leaving our appointment, Jon went out and bought a pair of little hockey gloves! You'll never guess what sport we'll be pushing! We decided to forgo sticking pictures of baby's privates on our blog, but it's a boy, no doubt about it. This will make the 3rd boy in our family out of 10 grandkids, and on Jon's side, we are now 2 out of 5. Not bad! Anyhoo, that's our exciting news, the poll ended up close, but we had 2 extra votes for boy, so right on!

What Will It Be?

So we are finding out on Friday what we are having! I'm super stoked, but we want to take bets on what other people think we are having. Based off my family luck, it'll probably be a girl. Based off the trend of our ward, it'll probably be a boy. At this point, I have no idea! So we would like to see what others think! Please, let us know and fill free to do our poll!

A Pea in the Nose

So I only thought it was little boys who did obnoxious things like shoving objects up their nose. My "perfect" daughter would never do anything like that! Boy was I wrong! Yesterday she proved to me, yet again, the joys of parenthood when during lunch (she was eating peas obviously) she suddenly went "uh oh" and was trying to put her finger deep in her nose. Well, I tried to get her to blow her nose and I didn't see anything, so I thought maybe she was just being weird. Later on that day as I was changing her diaper I noticed something green in her nose. I ran for tweezers and when I got back, nothing. I thought I was going crazy (this was bound to happen sometime!) so I grabbed my mini-maglite and had another looksee. Sure enough, there it was. With the thanks of the light and the tweezers I got the sucker out and was amazed by the size of that thing. Sevy has a little nose and that was a big pea. Oh the many joys of being a mom!

My True Color

Katrina, your true color is Red!
Your color is red, the color of racy sportscars, blushing cheeks, and luscious roses. Red symbolizes passion, romance, and love. So, since you're ruled by red, you probably trust your feelings more than your brain and tend to act spontaneously. If you see something you want, you go for it without thinking twice — impulsive is your middle name. You don't wait around for people to make decisions, either; you dive right in. Quite the romantic, you pay close attention to your emotions. In fact, if your heart isn't in what you're doing, you won't be satisfied. Of course, even when you do pour all your energy into the projects you tackle, your impetuous nature means your passions can shift as frequently as the wind. That's why some reds have trouble with commitment. Our advice? Next time you're feeling fickle, think before you act, if possible. You might be surprised at the results. Overall, though, it's great to be red. No one lives life more completely than you do.

JON, your true color is Brown!
You're brown, a credible, stable color that's reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy. Most likely, you're a logical, practical person ruled more by your head than your heart. With your inquisitive mind and insatiable curiosity, you're probably a great problem solver. And you always gather all of the facts before coming to a timely, informed decision. Easily intrigued, you're constantly finding new ways to challenge your mind, whether it's by reading the newspaper, playing a trivia game, or composing a piece of music. Brown is an impartial, neutral color, which means you tend to see the difference between fact and opinion easily and are open to many points of view. Trustworthy and steady, you really are a brown at heart.
